Key Responsibilities
Develop original digital motifs, borders, pallus, and all-over patterns tailored for sarees and suits.
Digitally reinterpret traditional Indian designs (Banarasi, Chikankari, Bandhej, Ikat, Kalamkari, etc.) into modern, production-ready formats.
Create seasonal design collections aligned with festive wear, bridal wear, and export-focused requirements.
Collaborate closely with weaving units, printing facilities, and artisans to ensure technical feasibility for handloom, powerloom, and digital printing production.
Conduct in-depth research and forecasting of ethnic fashion trends within the Indian apparel market.
Maintain an extensive and organized design archive of motifs, borders, repeats, and layout templates.
Ensure precision in color calibration, repeat accuracy, and production adaptability across all digital designs.
Present design collections to management and clients, incorporate feedback, and execute revisions efficiently.
Required Skills & Expertise
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Procreate (mandatory); working knowledge of Illustrator/CorelDRAW (preferred).
Strong knowledge of Indian ethnic motifs, traditional textile layouts, zari patterning, and regional embroidery traditions.
Ability to create high-quality digital mock-ups of sarees and suits for client presentations.
Solid understanding of textile printing processes, weaving techniques, and embroidery applications.
Exceptional color sense, attention to detail, and precision in digital pattern creation.
Ability to merge traditional aesthetics with contemporary fashion sensibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in ethnic textile design with a focus on sarees and suits.
Prior hands-on experience with Banarasi, Chanderi, Kota, Silk, and cotton-based textile design workflows.
Exposure to both domestic and international ethnic fashion markets.
Diploma or Degree in Textile Design or Fashion Design (preferred but not mandatory).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: ?50,000 - ?1,00,000 per month (depending on experience and portfolio strength).
