Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented

Textile Designer

with prior experience in the

home furnishings industry

.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong sense of aesthetics, a thorough understanding of fabrics, weaves, and finishes, and the ability to translate design concepts into production-ready textiles for both domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize and develop

design collections

for cushions, throws, curtains, table linen, bed linen, and other home textile categories. Create and manage

mood boards, color palettes, and trend-based design stories

in line with seasonal directions. Design and develop

woven, knitted and textured fabrics

, ensuring technical feasibility for production. Prepare

CADs, repeats, colorways, and design layouts

using design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent tools. Coordinate with

sampling and production teams

for swatch development, finishing, and quality alignment. Conduct ongoing

trend and market research

to understand emerging colors, textures, materials, and design preferences in home decor. Maintain a

digital and physical archive

of designs, references, and swatches for internal and client presentations. Collaborate with

merchandising, sourcing, and quality teams

to ensure design intent is maintained through to final production.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong creative ability with understanding of

fabric structures, weaving and finishing techniques.

Proven knowledge of

global home furnishing trends, color forecasts, and material innovation.

Proficiency in

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

, or other textile CAD applications (e.g., NedGraphics, Textronics). Ability to

develop repeats, color separations, and technical drawings

for woven and printed textiles. Excellent

color sense, pattern development, and attention to detail.

Strong organizational and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Ability to

manage multiple projects

and meet strict timelines.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or Diploma degree in

Textile Design / Fashion & Textiles / Applied Arts

from a reputed institute (NIFT, NID, Pearl Academy, or equivalent).

Experience

Minimum

2 to 5 years

of relevant experience in

home furnishings, textiles, or export house

environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

Exposure to

international home decor brands or export markets.

Experience in

sustainable materials, handloom fabrics, or surface embellishment development.

Basic knowledge of

digital textile printing or jacquard/woven pattern creation.
