Role description

Role Proficiency:



Execute test scenarios with minimal supervision.



Outcomes:



Construct and execute systematic test cases by referring to test scenarios for embedded systems based on test specifications or requirements

Set up the relevant embedded hardware for testing

Adherence to project quality processes as per the business demands

Document test results and report defects


Measures of Outcomes:



Number of test cases/script developed in comparison to the benchmarks

Number of test cases/script executed in comparison to the benchmarks

Number of valid defects

Adherence to documentation and test results

Adherence to project timelines


Outputs Expected:



Requirements:



Understand the requirement and write the test specification; execute the tests



Test Design

Development

Execution:



Flash the SW and setup the HW
Clusters

Identify and create test cases and test data

Conduct sanity testing for system readiness check

Execute test cases and scripts

Identify
log and track defects


Log productivity data



Debug:



Debug the embedded system and software functions



Manage Defects:



Raise defects
retest with the BKM's (Best Known Methods) and update the defects




Status Reporting:



Report status of assigned tasks on daily basis. Comply with project related reporting standards/process



Document:



Document the results and BKM's. Create learning and training documents


Skill Examples:



Ability to review requirements to identify ambiguities

Ability to design test cases. scripts and requirements

Ability to apply techniques to design efficient test cases and scripts

Ability to set up the hardware and execute tests

Ability to measure the quality of testing through checklist

Able to use Lauterbach Multi meter for debugging purpose


Knowledge Examples:


Knowledge of testing tools and testing standards
+ Knowledge of Tools relevant to embedded systems

+ Knowledge of Agile Methods - Scrum and Kanban

+ Knowledge on embedded C programming testing concepts python scripting exposures

Additional Comments:

Experience in OEM workshops, particularly in diagnostics and repair. 2. Understanding of vehicle communication protocols - CAN, UDS. 3. Knowledge in OTX authoring using Grade-X or Xentry. 4. Knowledge of vehicle systems from a diagnostics and repair perspective. 5. Experience in an OEM workshop or Knowledge in developing diagnostic content using OTX.
