Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated
Test Engineer
to join our PCB manufacturing and design team. The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing testing strategies to ensure the performance, reliability, and quality of printed circuit boards (PCBs) throughout the production lifecycle.
This role involves hands-on testing of bare boards and assembled PCBs, troubleshooting failures, working closely with design, production, and QA teams, and helping to improve test coverage and efficiency in a high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans and protocols for bare PCBs and fully assembled boards.
Design and maintain functional and in-circuit test (ICT) setups, test jigs, and automated test equipment (ATE).
Perform electrical testing of PCBs (including flying probe, ICT, and functional test methods).
Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis on test failures or production defects.
Work with the design team to improve testability (DFT - Design for Test) of PCBs.
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to drive improvements in yield and reliability.
Document all test processes, procedures, and results accurately and clearly.
Support implementation of automated test systems to streamline testing operations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IPC-A-600/610 and ISO 9001.
Provide technical support for customer-specific test requirements or failure investigations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in PCB testing, electronics testing, or a manufacturing test engineering role.
Strong understanding of PCB design, layout, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, Gerber files, and BOMs.
Familiarity with DFM and DFT principles for PCB design and testing.
