• What you will do
• As a member of the Johnson Controls, Test Engineer II-Hardware Testing Engineer will be part of an Engineering team that Design, Test and Validate Electronic Products, you will help build the platform and the embedded systems for JCI product line. You will work on Test and Validating the Embedded Hardware Devices that will be used to integrate with the Building Automation units on the current architecture and understand documentation best practices and possess the capability to manage changes and guide others through documentation completion.
• This position will be based at the Johnson Controls building in Pune and will be part of Global Platforming team.
• How you will do it
• Communicate within the cross-functional team to understand requirements and Create Product test and Validation Plan and Document
• Perform benchmark tests to evaluate the next generation hardware platform
• Create test specifications based on requirements in order to test the specific modules and creates & maintains product Validation, Verification, Alpha and Regression Test documentation
• Take Lead on Board Bring up, Testing and Debugging the HW/SW issues
• Comfort with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, DMM, function generators, JTAG programmers, Soldering Iron)
• Information Security Responsibilities :
• Adhere to JCI policies, guidelines and procedures pertaining to the protection of information assets
• Adhere to JCI product security standards and guidelines for secured software product development
• The software, and licenses, shall be deployed and used only in accordance with JCI licensing agreements
• Unless provided in the applicable license, notice, or agreement, copyrighted software shall not be duplicated, except for backup and archival purposes
• Any software that is acquired illegally or does not have a valid license shall not be deployed or used. Copying of third-party materials without an appropriate license is prohibited
• The employees, contractors or third-party personnel shall not copy, extract, or reproduce in any way, copyrighted material from the Internet on information systems provided by the organization, other than permitted by copyright law
• Implement appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
• All employees, contractors and third parties shall be responsible to report all information security incidents, alerts, warnings, and suspected vulnerabilities, in a timely manner, and share such information only with authorized personnel
• What we look for
• BE/BTech/ME/MTech- (ECE/EIE/EEE)- minimum 5+ (5-8 years) years of experience in Embedded Board Test and Validation
• Should have strong high-speed interfaces understanding and knowledge of Product Design Lifecycle
• Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, peers and stakeholders in Global Engineering centers
• Able to work efficiently independently as a team member and have the capacity to work on tight deadlines with high efficiency
• Self-learner, able to work with autonomy, readiness for foreign/domestic travel for a short/long-term basis
• Development and execution of test suites and testing strategies for Industrial Products, covering electronic components such as Multi-core SoC, DDR 3/4 memory, Giga Bit Ethernet, MIPI DSI, sensors, communications buses, power conversion units, and full functional testing of an assembled electro-mechanical subsystem
• Should have Hands-on experience in understanding and capturing the Signal Integrity level issue in High-Speed interfaces like USB 3.0, PCIe etc
• Should have hands-on experience with test and Debugging on Power Circuitry including Buck, Boost, LDO, PMIC including deep understanding of Noise, Ripple etc
• Should have strong understanding of Electronics component Knowledge, Schematics and PCB Layout understanding,
• Executes hardware and software testing phases while the products are designed and supported
• Executes and reviews designs providing DFT (Design for Test) input to the design team
• Involving with design and engineering team to develop test programs, test methods and test plans to verify designs and qualify manufacturing processes
• Preferred
• Hands-on experience in Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium
• Strong communication skills and be able to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds
• Preferred to have experience with Python, test automation
• Preferred to have experience in Embedded Board Programming and Scripting knowledge
• Preferred to have understanding of DFMA
