Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager with a strong background in Ghee or similar FMCG products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operations across Rajkot, Jamnagar, Saurashtra, and Kutch-Bhuj. This role requires extensive retail sales experience, dynamic leadership to build and nurture a high-performing sales team, and an unwavering commitment to achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets for Ghee and other dairy products within the assigned territory.
Market Penetration:
Drive market penetration and expansion by identifying new business opportunities, channel partners, and retail outlets (General Trade & Modern Trade).
Retail Excellence:
Ensure strong product visibility, merchandising standards, and availability across all retail touchpoints. Leverage deep understanding of retail dynamics to maximize sales.
Team Leadership & Development:
Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team.
Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and target achievement within the team.
Target Achievement:
Take full ownership of sales targets, consistently striving to over-achieve set goals. Implement corrective actions promptly when deviations occur.
Distributor Management:
Effectively manage and support distributors to ensure optimal stock levels, timely deliveries, and strong market coverage.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities and threats, providing timely feedback to management.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key retailers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of
5-8 years of progressive sales experience
in the FMCG sector, with a significant focus on
Ghee or similar dairy/edible oil products.
Mandatory extensive experience in retail sales (General Trade is essential).
Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Demonstrated experience in
team handling, recruitment, and training
of sales professionals.
Strong understanding of the sales landscape in Maharashtra Khandeshi Districts .
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Dynamic, self-motivated, and target-driven with a strong sense of ownership.
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
