The Tendering Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the entire tendering process for industrial projects. This includes evaluating tender documents, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with internal departments and subcontractors, and submitting competitive and compliant bids. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of construction and industrial project requirements and strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tender Management
Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Identify scope of work, project constraints, and client requirements.
Plan tender schedules and allocate responsibilities within the team.
2. Cost Estimation and BOQ Preparation
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil, structural, MEP, and architectural works.
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to obtain accurate material and subcontractor pricing.
Develop detailed BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing templates tailored to industrial projects.
3. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
Float enquiries and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors.
Evaluate quotations for technical and commercial compliance.
Maintain and update a reliable vendor database for industrial works.
4. Documentation & Submission
Prepare and compile technical and commercial bid submissions.
Ensure all documentation complies with tender requirements, timelines, and formats.
Assist in post-submission clarifications and negotiations.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with design, engineering, planning, and finance teams to gather necessary inputs.
Coordinate with project managers for construction methodology and project timelines.
6. Market & Risk Analysis
Analyze market trends and project risks.
Recommend strategic pricing and value engineering solutions to enhance bid competitiveness.
Desired Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Quantity Surveying or related field.
5+ years of experience in tendering or estimation roles, specifically for industrial construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, standards, and pricing mechanisms for industrial works.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Primavera).
Experience with contracts like FIDIC or local government procurement processes is an advantage.
