Proposal development:
Prepare comprehensive and compelling bids, including technical proposals, cost estimates, and project timelines, while ensuring compliance with all client specifications and standards.
Internal coordination:
Liaise with various departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, finance, legal) to gather necessary information and ensure all aspects of the bid are addressed.
Client and stakeholder communication:
Interface with clients, consultants, and vendors to clarify queries, conduct negotiations, and build strong relationships.
Risk and compliance:
Conduct risk analysis, manage bidding budgets, and ensure all submissions adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Performance monitoring:
Track ongoing tenders, evaluate bid performance metrics, and provide guidance and training on tendering practices to the team.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is typically required. A Master's degree or related business degree can also be beneficial.
Experience:
Several years of experience in civil engineering tendering or business development is essential. Experience with large-scale or specific project types (e.g., infrastructure, industrial buildings) is often preferred.
Technical skills:
Strong understanding of civil engineering processes, cost estimation, and relevant software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD, tendering software).
Soft skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills are crucial for success in this client-facing role.
