The Tendering & Estimation Engineer(Construction) is responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. The role includes coordinating with internal departments, suppliers, and clients to ensure that tenders are submitted on time and comply with the company's policies and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Study and review tender documents including drawings, specifications, scope of work, and BOQs.
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze project risks and prepare clarifications or exclusions as part of the proposal.
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to obtain quotations and technical support.
Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and clarification meetings with clients.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals and ensure timely submission.
Maintain a database of pricing, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Monitor and track tender status and manage related documentation.
Assist the project team in project handover and budget preparation upon award.
Stay updated with market trends, cost factors, and new technologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or relevant field).
Minimum 3- years of experience in Estimation and Tendering Preferably in Construction.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Good negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
Prior experience in bidding for
government (PWD, TNSCB, CPWD, Highways) and private sector construction projects
in Tamil Nadu.
