The Plumbing & Fire Fighting Tendering Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, technical proposals, and tender documents for plumbing, firefighting, and related MEP works in infrastructure, commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:1. Tendering & Estimation
Study and analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQs, specifications, and scope of work.
Prepare
cost estimates
, rate analysis, quantity take-offs, and pricing sheets.
Evaluate material, labour, subcontractor, and equipment costs.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals according to client requirements.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to finalize competitive quotations.
2. Plumbing System Expertise
Strong knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewage, STP/ETP, rainwater harvesting, and pumping systems.
Review layouts, schematics, P&IDs, and plumbing drawings.
Suggest technical solutions and value engineering options.
3. Fire Fighting System Expertise
Knowledge of hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, pump rooms, fire alarm integration, and suppression systems.
Understanding of NFPA, NBC, IS codes, and local fire norms.
Evaluate firefighting drawings, system calculations, and equipment selections.
4. Coordination & Communication
Interact with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for clarifications.
Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings.
Support project teams during techno-commercial evaluations.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare tender summaries, comparison sheets, and cost breakup reports.
Maintain organized documentation for all tender-related activities.
Ensure timely submission of bids before deadlines.
