We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tendering Engineer with expertise in Electrical, Automation, and Instrumentation systems. The role involves preparing competitive bids, cost estimates, and technical proposals in line with client requirements and company standards. The Tendering Engineer will coordinate with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of tenders.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and requirements.
Prepare techno-commercial proposals, cost estimations, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
Liaise with internal departments (Design, Procurement, Projects, Finance) to gather input for bid preparation.
Identify risks, deviations, and exclusions in tenders and highlight them to management.
Conduct site visits or pre-bid meetings (if required) to collect necessary project information.
Ensure tenders are submitted on time with complete documentation and compliance.
Support sales team in clarifying technical queries from clients.
Maintain a database of suppliers, subcontractors, and pricing for reference in estimations.
Track tender status, follow up with clients, and update management on bid progress.
Support post-bid negotiations and handover of successful tenders to the project execution team.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of GEM Portal, Electrical Systems, Automation Solutions (PLC, SCADA, DCS), and Instrumentation.
Hands-on experience in estimation, costing, and proposal preparation.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), datasheets, and P&IDs.
Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, ISA, IEEE, IS).
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of AutoCAD / estimation software is a plus.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
