. The role involves managing the entire tendering cycle -- from opportunity identification to submission and post-award coordination -- ensuring technical compliance, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tender Identification & Analysis:
Regularly monitor tender portals (GeM, CPPP, IOCL, BPCL, ECL, SAIL, Railways, PWD, etc.) for relevant opportunities.
Analyze tender documents (NIT, BOQ, Technical & Commercial sections) for feasibility and scope understanding.
Identify pre-qualification requirements and assess company eligibility.
2. Tender Preparation & Submission:
Prepare comprehensive tender documentation including technical write-ups, company credentials, past experience, certifications, and compliance forms.
Liaise with technical, estimation, accounts, and operations teams for data inputs, pricing, and supporting documents.
Prepare detailed
cost estimation sheets
, material take-offs (MTO), rate analysis, and price bid formats.
Ensure accurate uploading and timely submission of bids on e-procurement portals.
3. Technical & Commercial Coordination:
Review specifications, drawings, and scope of work to identify technical deviations.
Coordinate with vendors/sub-contractors for obtaining quotations for raw materials, fabrication, and transport.
Prepare deviation statements, compliance charts, and pre-bid clarifications.
Support the management team during technical and commercial negotiations.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain a central database of all submitted and ongoing tenders, including key submission dates and results.
Track tender outcomes, feedback, and reasons for acceptance/rejection.
Manage tender security instruments (EMD, BG, SD) and ensure timely refunds/renewals.
Prepare MIS reports for tender performance and success rate analysis.
Technical Competencies:
Sound knowledge of
steel grades, fabrication standards, and structural drawings

Familiarity with
IS codes

BOQ estimation
, and
rate analysis for structural & fabricated items
.
Experience in
e-tendering platforms (GeM, NIC, MSTC, ECL, etc.)
.
Strong commercial acumen in
costing, taxation, freight, and project margin analysis
.
Advanced MS Excel, Word, PDF editing, and documentation management skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or contracts within the steel/fabrication industry.
Preferred Background:
Candidates from structural steel, fabrication, EPC, or industrial supply sectors.
Key Attributes:
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and coordination skills.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to multitask and meet strict submission deadlines.
