Deluxe is seeking strong Linguistic specialists to ensure the accuracy of subtitles for our client's projects. This is a fast-paced role and will require an individual with translation and subtitling experience. Our requirement includes providing linguistic skills for subtitling and localization processes.
We look for the ability to ensure that our subtitles conform to industry and Deluxe standards and client requirements (timing, content and client specific rules) guaranteeing 100% on-time delivery, while maintaining high quality standards.
As an In-House Telugu Subtitle Translator, you will be responsible for:
Primary requirements
Translating, proofreading and QCing Telugu subtitles for multiple projects/clients.
Liaising with internal teams to meet client requirements for creating and/or revising translations where necessary.
Coordinating with colleagues from worldwide production departments.
Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone
Cross-reference specialized dictionaries, guidelines and translation tools to check quality of translation.
Use knowledge of existing language and familiar family of languages to help prep a foreign language subtitle in terms of timing, structure and content.
Refer given material and research industry-specific terminology
Proofread translated texts against original audio for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
Edit content with an eye toward maintaining the required format (e.g. font and structure)
Professional proficiency typing with Telugu Language keyboard on computer/laptop.
Adhering to deadlines for all assignments.
Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and coordinators regarding the status of work as well as reporting problems as soon as they occur.
Follow department-specific schedules and guidelines and demonstrate adherence to the schedule.
Actively participate in all job / personal knowledge training programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Lead and/or Manager.
Key Qualifications
Telugu native speaker.
Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Deep understanding of cultural/terminological nuances.
Sound English and foreign language Communication (Comprehension, Written and Spoken)
A minimum of 3 years of translation experience is required.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
Be extremely resourceful with a good ability to work independently.
Possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal as well as external stakeholders.
Possess the ability to troubleshoot and effectively escalate any concerns.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities or sudden changes in workflow.
Possess the ability to engage with culturally diverse and distributed teams.
Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Possess good command of Microsoft Windows systems & Microsoft Office Suite
