A Telesales Executive is a sales professional who sells products or services primarily via telephone calls. Unlike field sales, this role is office-based (or remote) and relies entirely on verbal communication, persuasion, and digital tools like CRMs to close deals.
The role is generally split into two types:
Outbound Telesales: Proactively calling "cold" or "warm" leads to generate interest and sales.
Inbound Telesales: Handling calls from customers who have already shown interest or are responding to an advertisement.
Key Responsibilities
A Telesales Executive must balance high call volumes with high-quality conversation:
Lead Outreach & Pitching: Contacting potential customers using a prepared script to introduce products/services and their benefits.
Requirement Discovery: Asking open-ended questions to understand the customer's needs and "pain points."
Objection Handling: Confidently addressing concerns regarding price, competition, or timing to keep the sale alive.
CRM Management: Recording every interaction, updating customer details, and setting follow-up reminders in software like Salesforce or HubSpot.
Meeting Targets: Consistently hitting daily call quotas and monthly sales revenue targets.
Order Processing: accurately taking customer information and processing payments or orders during the call.
