Role Summary-
The Tele-Counselor is responsible for handling outbound and inbound calls to prospective students/parents, conducting pre-counseling, profiling leads, and generating qualified walk-ins/appointments for detailed career counselling and admissions, based on the data provided by the organization.
Salary-
For Freshers - 10K to 13K (Without Target but with Benchmarks)
For Experienced - As per Targets - From 15K to 30K
Key Responsibilities-
- Make a minimum of 60 calls and achieve at least 30 connected calls per working day.
- Generate a minimum of 25 physical visits or online counselling appointments per week from allocated leads.
- Conduct detailed pre-counseling for each connected lead, understanding their education background, eligibility, interests, budget, and location.
- Do complete profiling of every lead and record it in a structured Google Sheet/CRM, including:
Name and contact details, Education background and current status, Follow-up date, time, and mode
Call disposition (Interested / Not Interested / Follow-up / Visit Scheduled / Not Reachable, etc.)
Counsellor remarks and next action
- Generate positive prospects from the provided data by building rapport, explaining course highlights, and motivating them to attend counselling or visit the campus/center.
- Coordinate with in-house counsellors/admissions team to ensure scheduled visits and appointments are honoured and tracked.
- Follow calling scripts, FAQs, and objection-handling guidelines shared by the organization.
- Ensure timely follow-ups with all warm and hot leads as per the schedule noted in the sheet/CRM.
- Maintain confidentiality of student/parent data and adhere to data protection and privacy guidelines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Minimum 60 calls per working day.
- Minimum 30 connected calls per working day.
- Minimum 25 visits/appointments generated per week.
- 100% profiling completion for all connected leads on the same day.
- Data accuracy and completeness in Google Sheet/CRM as per audit checks.
- Positive prospect / interest rate and lead-to-visit conversion as per targets communicated by management.
Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Consistent shortfall in daily calls, connected calls, or weekly visits.
- Incomplete or inaccurate lead profiling and poor data quality.
- Repeated delays in follow-ups or missed scheduled calls.
- Behavioural issues such as unprofessional communication, non-adherence to scripts, or policy violations.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Working Days: 6 Days a Week, One Fixed Week Off
- Working Hours: 10:30AM to 7:30PM, with scheduled breaks
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualification: Any
Experience: Fresher or 0-2 years in telecalling, counselling, customer service, or sales; education industry experience preferred.
Good verbal communication skills in [English / Hindi].
Good listening, counselling, and persuasion skills.
