Job Description

The person will be responsible for translating structural design drawings into accurate and buildable 3D models and generating all necessary fabrication and erection deliverables. The primary focus of this role will be on

Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structures

and related steelworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. 3D Modelling & Detailing

Model Creation:

Develop highly accurate, complete, and constructible 3D Tekla Structures models for PEB projects based on structural contract drawings, design specifications, and scope of work.

Detailing Standards:

Apply industry-standard detailing practices for connections, members, and accessories, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes (e.g., AISC, IS) and project specifications.

Clash Detection:

Proactively identify and resolve potential structural conflicts, interferences (clashes), and constructability issues within the model beforegenerating output drawings.

Component & Assembly Setup:

Model all primary and secondary structural steel members, connections, bracing, girts, purlins, sheeting rails, and accessories typical of PEB construction.

B. Drawing & Report Generation

Drawing Extraction:

Generate comprehensive and clear shop/fabrication drawings for all steel assemblies and components.

Erection Deliverables:

Produce detailed Erection Drawings, including clear layout plans, section views, and connection details, for efficient on-site assembly.

Reporting:

Extract necessary reports from the Tekla model, including Material Take-Off (MTO), Bolt Lists, and CNC/DXF files for fabrication machinery.

Drawing Management:

Maintain drawing registers, manage revisions, and ensure all output drawings are correctly titled, numbered, and traceable.

C. Collaboration & Quality Assurance

Coordination:

Collaborate closely with the Engineering, Project Management, and Fabrication teams to ensure the model accurately reflects design intent and fabrication capabilities.

Quality Checks:

Perform rigorous self-checks and participate in peer reviews of models and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards before submission.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

A. Technical Expertise

Software Mastery:

Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience

using

Tekla Structures

for structural steel detailing, specifically in a production environment.

PEB Knowledge:

Deep understanding and proven experience in modelling and detailing various PEB components and systems (e.g., rigid frames, truss systems, high-low bay configurations, crane beams).

Drawing Interpretation:

Proficient ability to read, interpret, and work accurately from structural, architectural, and civil engineering drawings.

Steel Fabrication:

Familiarity with common steel fabrication processes, techniques, and shop floor requirements (e.g., welding symbols, tolerances, handling).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.

Attention to Detail:

Exceptional precision and attention to detail are mandatory for accurate modelling and clash-free delivery.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with the team and consultants.
