Job summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology, you will play a crucial role in maintaining system reliability for one of the world's leading financial institutions. You will utilize technology and software engineering best practices to address business challenges and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve excellence..

Job responsibilities

Executes small to medium projects independently and grows to deliver projects autonomously. Writes high-quality, maintainable, and robust code following software engineering best practices. Triages, diagnoses, and resolves incidents, collaborating to address root causes. Proactively identifies and eliminates toil through systems engineering or code updates. Implements and improves observability solutions, including service level indicators, objectives, monitoring, and alerting.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience. Ability to code in at least one programming language. Experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure. Familiarity with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices. Knowledge of observability, including monitoring and telemetry tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk. Familiarity with containers or common server operating systems such as Linux or Windows. Understanding of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

General knowledge of financial services industry. Exposure to cloud technologies. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies. Emerging knowledge of continuous integration and delivery tools.
