Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to support operational health (performance, availability, interoperability, reliability) of Lowe's Technology Systems. This includes providing first and second-level support for enterprise systems.

This role delivers infrastructure solutions in support of components of larger project-based solutions.

The individual in this role assists more senior level engineers with infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture, and works with Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements.

At times, this role may deliver work on a smaller component scale independently, with a high level of autonomy.

The individual in this role must be comfortable suggesting, promoting, and using published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory and license compliance.

The individual in this role works the hours and schedule required to support the enterprise and may be on call and/or work alternate schedules to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
• 2 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development
• Experience with systems (both infrastructure and applications) management, diagnostics, and support
• Familiarity with networking, server, and storage technologies
• Familiarity with n-tier architectures

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 2 years of experience leading technical or project teams with or without direct reports
• 1 year of work experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior management (i.e., Director level or higher)
• 2 years of experience working in a large matrixed organization
• 2 years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or systems solution providers
• 2 years of IT experience in the retail industry
• 2 years of experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment
• Knowledge of one or more of the following: Unix/Linux/Windows server administration experience (RedHat); Configuration management and automation tools; Database administration experience (RDBMS, NoSQL); Messaging technologies (MQ. Kafka); Web Servers Experience (Apache, Nginx); Application containers (Jboss); Core Services - NTP, proxy, mail, DNS; IT security; Public/Private Cloud technology; Scripting languages; Object-oriented languages; Big Data technologies (Splunk)

Systems Administration

• Experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework (systems administration related qualification)
• Experience providing first or second level support for enterprise IT systems in a corporate setting, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents (systems administration related qualification)
• Experience working with defect or incident tracking software (systems administration related qualification)

Linux/AIX

• Alert Monitoring, Incident Handling and KBA Execution knowledge are mandatory. Need to have knowledge about Monitoring console and Ticketing systems.
• Shell scripting knowledge is must.
• Strong knowledge of Linux-RHEL and UNIX-AIX Administration. Additional UBUNTU knowledge is also advisable.
• Knowledge on server maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skill.
• Should have experience in handling operational and applicational support issues is production environment
• File Systems, Memory and Process management and troubleshooting.
• Installation and Configuration of Redhat Servers .
• Install, update and upgrade the packages using with rpm and yum tools.
• Processes administration and Management like monitoring, start/stop/kill various processes.
• Configuration of Remote Access utilities, providing user access control on services like telnet, ftp and ssh.
• Monitoring the Servers performance using with performance monitoring tools like top and ps etc..
• Strong team player, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Results oriented and highly flexible

Windows

• Monitor all system alerts and assist to resolve complex issues in system hardware and software.

• Administer and execute various management activities and manage all backup activities.

• Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory group policies, login scripts, DNS and DHCP

• Administer efficient work of servers and system and provide support to everyday operations.

• Coordinate with various groups and perform troubleshoot on all production problems and provide resolution.

• Manage and monitor system plans and supervise all activities for plan and unplanned systems.

• Install and configure various commercial products on window operating systems.

• Perform research on system technology and provide resolution to complex issues for processes.

• Monitor trouble tickets and provide appropriate resolution for same.

• Determine support to patch application and timeframe for same and develop appropriate strategies.

• Maintain Active Directory and virtual servers

• Build and configure Windows and VmWare servers

• Responsible for production support activities for facilities operations to ensure the security and stability of the environment

• Track points of friction for users, technology or operations, use analytics and then work with other teams

• Define and perform server backups and recovery procedure

• Policy base management

• Monitor all Windows servers for performance issues and stability concerns

• Operation and maintenance of Windows Servers (2008 R2 & 2012)

• Support our Remote Desktop Services (RDS) / Terminal Services environment

• Work with Application and Engineering team on projects and initiatives
