Key Responsibilities:
Radiographic Imaging Duties:
Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Position patients correctly to obtain accurate radiographic images based on the referring physician's request.
Ensure proper functioning of imaging equipment; report any technical issues immediately.
Perform routine and emergency X-rays (chest, extremities, abdomen, spine, etc.) following standard protocols.
Assist during fluoroscopic and contrast studies under the supervision of a radiologist if required.
Patient Orientation & Guidance:
Greet patients and confirm their identity and requisition.
Explain procedures in a clear, reassuring manner to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
Provide proper instructions regarding clothing, positioning, and breath-holding if needed.
Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy during the imaging process.
Assist patients with mobility issues or special needs before, during, and after the procedure.
Documentation & Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient details, type of scan, and imaging parameters.
Enter and manage data in Radiology Information System (RIS) or Hospital Information System (HIS).
Ensure proper labeling and secure storage or transfer of images (PACS or film).
Safety & Compliance:
Follow radiation protection guidelines for self, patients, and other staff.
Use protective shielding and maintain minimal radiation exposure.
Adhere to infection control, hygiene, and departmental protocols.
Participate in quality control and maintenance of X-ray equipment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other imaging staff.
Assist in coordinating patient flow to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Participate in training, departmental meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
