Job Description
:
- Specimen Handling: Receive, log, sort, and process tissue samples from surgery.
- Tissue Preparation: Fix, dehydrate, clear, embed tissues in paraffin, and cut thin sections (microtomy).
- Staining: Perform routine and special staining procedures to highlight cellular details.
- Microscopy: Prepare slides for microscopic examination by pathologists.
- Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology lab instruments.
- Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and order reagents, stains, and lab supplies.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality assurance checks and follow safety protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately record all processes, findings, and maintain lab reports.
- Pathologist Assistance: Support pathologists during gross examination and frozen section analysis.
