Job Description

What will you do?

• Work with R&D team members to aid in planning, crafting, developing, implementing, and verifying hardware in support of existing product development
• Provide general support to cross-disciplinary engineers and engineering teams
• Participate in making engineering prototypes before hand-off to production
• Build and test sub-assemblies to demonstrate proof of concept
• Modify and test existing products to help qualify new parts and assemblies.
• Participate in the engineering change control process
• Perform simple rework of electric motors, printed circuit boards and cabling, build fixtures, and perform testing
• Assist with keeping the lab spaces organized
• Develop and maintain documentation related to engineering changes, prototype design, prototype testing, assembly procedures, and general engineering activities
• Other duties as assigned

How will you get here?

• Associate Degree or any equivalent certification in Electrical domain
• Strong in Electrical and tackle problems. Able to quickly analyze and evaluate to determine then remedy root cause of issues.
• 3-4 years hands on experience in building prototypes, electrical, electromechanical assemblies or instruments is a must
• Excellent interpersonal skills: Able to clearly communicate technical results to peers and management
• Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as a member of an innovative team
• Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Previous experience in providing technical support to complex instruments or scientific products
• Prior use of hand tools
• Complex assembly of scientific instrumentation is a plus
• Prior work in a research and development environment preferred
