What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do:

Quark Software Inc. is seeking a dynamic & highly committed individual who will be responsible for Technical Writing & Documentation of all Quark products. The Technical Writer will be a part of the product team, working closely with Engineering, UX and Product Management. This person must embrace the challenge of understanding and analyzing a complex business environment, and display the ability, willingness, and courage to tackle difficult and multiple assignments with a passion for delivering results. The key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and update technical documentation for Quark software products including user guides, installation, configuration, and customization guides and API documentation.
• Write documentation based on technical specifications, research, interviews with R&D, QA, and Product management; and using and understanding the product.
• Proofread and copy edit content submissions by various stakeholders.
• Become a power user of Quark\xe2\x80\x99s content automation stack with an aim to run an agile documentation process with zero latency.
• Manage the documentation delivery schedule for all ongoing releases.
• Review existing documents to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain a style guide for content authoring.
• Coordinate documentation review activities.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in English, Communication, Journalism or Computer Science.
• Fluency in US English writing.
• 3-7 yrs. of experience in writing and editing software documentation for end users and developers in a clear, concise style.
• Ability to fulfill scheduling commitments in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Must be willing to conform to corporate style guide and track multiple reviews and revisions.
• Experience in using XML authoring tools and topic based authoring using DITA.
• Experience in Document Translation Tools/Services, Translation memories and Translation processes.
• Experience in Software API Documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Should have experience and sound knowledge of creating PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, and infographics.
• Working knowledge of creative design tools and desktop publishing tools is a plus.
• Work in an agile environment.
