We are looking for a talented and curious technical writer who is passionate about creating compelling content that makes our developer users successful. As a technical writer at Guidewire, you will use your ability to grasp technical concepts to convert developer-speak into content that speaks to the user. You\'ll be comfortable interacting with developers and you will use your passion for customer success to make sure users get the information they need to make their jobs easier.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and a self-motivated attitude. Expect to work in a fast-changing, flexible environment, where cross-geo collaboration is key. \

Key responsibilities

• Create technical documentation for our applications, including developer guides, configuration guides, and release notes
• Work closely with developers and product managers to understand our products and target audiences
• Plan, design, and deliver targeted information experiences for developers in short release cycles
• Develop content in various forms, such as online content and code samples
• Participate in initiatives to make our content more impactful and relevant to our different audiences

Required skills and experience

• 2+ years of experience creating content for enterprise software applications
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Understanding of content development principles, theories, and concepts, including information architecture and information delivery
• Understanding of web applications and cloud platforms
• Technical aptitude to understand and document complex solutions
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to get information from subject matter experts and learn by experimenting
• Willingness to work in a distributed global team environment

Preferably, you also have some of the following:

• Good understanding of structured authoring and markup languages such as DITA and Markdown
• Experience working in Git
• Experience working in an Agile environment
