Job Description

Role Purpose

To work within the Data team for the VIEW Civica Justice Services Division.

Reports to Data Team Leader

In general, travel to Australia/UK could be one visit every 2 years. This can be at short notice and this frequency is not guaranteed as all travel is based on a clear business or project requirement. A passport is essential.

Principal Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Technical:

  • Key:
  • Identifying, preparing, interpreting and resolving data issues.
  • Action incoming data fix requests appropriately using impact analysis and business input
  • Provide appropriate visibility and prioritisation of system improvements, defect fixes and the like to improve data quality, system functionality and stability
  • Providing guidance and support to business in determining and recommending information needs.
  • Working with Data Team lead to ensure design and construction of queries/scripts meet current and potential future business needs.
  • Ensuring ongoing data integrity, reporting any data inconsistencies appropriately.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing, documentation of processes and automated solutions within the Data team as well as across Service and Infrastructure teams
  • Engage with the customer on resolution of data issues to a successful resolution ensuring that appropriate customer and internal communication is maintained.
  • Ensure that the Data Team Lead, Head of Services and Managing Director CP is kept appropriately informed of product issues/resolutions.
  • Provide data scripts to expedite rollout of new modules/areas of the syste
  • Be a team player with an excellent attitude.
  • Be organised, keep track of their work & any commitments
  • Prioritise effectively if/when things pile up.
  • Communicate (both good and bad news) well and you get excited about improving things.
  • Have a "CAN DO" attitude and be focussed out "Outcomes" rather than "Outputs"
  • Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and articulate methodologies and results.

Delivery:

Requirements

Educational Qualification
  • First class and above grade in BE/BTECH/MCA equivalent degree from a university of UGC accredited.

Essential Competencies

Essential Competencies:
  • Must have minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced problem analysis and problem solving skills. Excellent statistical/numerical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL database and scripting. Database experience in high availability environments. Ability to access data stored in warehouses and interrogate efficiently.
  • Knowledge of commercial statistical software packages such as Crystal Reports etc.
  • At least 1 year's commercial experience in data/information analysis coupled with tertiary education.
Preferred Competencies:
  • Comply with all company policies including Information Security Policies.
  • Successfully pass Police Security Checks.
  • Willing to provide reference contact details.
  • Microsoft Certifications in windows and SQL.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
Mandatory Skills:

Strong SQL Server Query

Excellent problem solving methods

Intermediate Data analysis and presentation (e.g. Crystal Reports or similar)

Effective time management

Comply with strict data security policies

Microsoft certification in SQL Server / TSQL

Customer support focus / ITIL Methodology
