Position: Technical Superintendent (Chief Engineer)

Location: Kakinada

Requisites:

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 8 years' experience as a Chief Engineer in the maritime/offshore industry, with progressive responsibility. Maritime/offshore technical systems, maintenance strategies, and safety standards. Proficiency in regulatory compliance including international maritime regulations and industry-specific standards.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the technical performance and maintenance of vessels/offshore platforms.

Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure minimum downtime.

Monitor the performance of key technical systems, including propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems.

Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Coordinate training programs and professional development to ensure team competence.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical operations with overall business objectives.

Ensure all technical operations adhere to international maritime/offshore regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.

Implement and regularly review safety protocols; lead safety drills and emergency response preparedness initiatives.

Maintain up-to-date documentation and certifications for all technical assets and operations.

Manage technical projects including equipment upgrades, retrofits, and troubleshooting initiatives.

Develop and oversee the technical maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising safety or reliability.

Evaluate and coordinate repair and maintenance contracts with third-party vendors.

Analyze operational data to identify performance trends, areas of improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.

Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and best practices in technical and engineering operations.

Prepare reports and present findings, recommendations, and performance updates to senior management.
