The Tanzu products aim to simplify the process for customers delivering modern applications to production. You\'ll thrive in this Technical Program Manager position i f you have a passion for executing timely releases and are excited at the prospect of managing a program around a nascent SaaS platform solution. Y ou enjoy solving complex problems and bringing process structure and leadership to exciting new programs, products, and initiatives.Y ou are capable of understanding distributed systems, how they work, and enjoy partnering with engineering teams to set the technical direction, vision and strategy. You will use your technical background and product knowledge to understand business processes and lifecycle to provide clarity to your program. What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for The Tanzu team needs a technical program manager to collaborate with partner teams across VMware to smoothly deliver releases, including managing cross-team dependencies, streamlining delivery processes, and cultivating a learning and inclusive culture. The TPM drives high-impact programs that enable engineering and the company to move faster and grow revenue. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing After 3 months: . You will understand the network of direct dependencies for your program and establish a relationship as a trusted partner with them. . You will understand the business processes used to deliver Tanzu products and effectively guide engineering teams to achieve solid product delivery on plan. . You will adopt approaches to encourage regular reflection to identify ways to improve our processes at any level, and drive improvements to completion. After 6 months: . You will ensure coordinated delivery of Tanzu products in coordination with indirect partnerships across the larger Tanzu team. . You will establish a clear release management plan and have recommendations to improve. . You will establish regular communication updates with partners from multiple domains. . You will establish clear patterns and processes to consume customer feedback and translate into actions for the larger team. After 12 months: . You will be working towards a Senior level role. . You will apply your understanding of the overall Tanzu mission and strategy to guide your program to optimize delivery in a way that supports broader Tanzu objectives. . You will consult and advise on related programs to identify potential challenges and opportunities that can benefit from common solutions between Tanzu Application Platform and related programs. . You will help improve processes across multiple teams as you bring in and share out best practices with partner teams and from outside sources. What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis As a Technical Program Manager, you will: . Plan and guide execution for business-critical projects, such as product releases, beta programs, and quarterly program reviews. . Coordinate dependencies between partner teams to ensure smooth delivery and potential trouble spots. . Communicate overall program status regularly to the team and to leadership, recognizing both progress and challenges. . Encourage celebration around milestone achievement across the program. . Facilitate reflective sessions, such as retrospectives and team health assessments, to foster a learning culture within your programs. . Continually learn and improve your approach and your team\'s approach through sharing and learning from other teams at VMware and through researching industry trends and best practices.
