The Regional Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership to the region, formulating and executing regional technical strategy, leading the technical team to deliver results from key projects, and developing organizational capabilities to drive profitability and sustainable growth for LLS businesses in IMEA, in alignment with the Global technical strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Development and Implementation
Develop, improve, and implement strategies for regional product development, application research, and technical service.
Align the allocation of technical resources and budget with global and regional business strategies.
Provide Leadership
Lead and develop the technical team for high effectiveness and operational excellence.
Offer technical support to sales and marketing teams for key growth initiatives and projects.
Deliver Results
Overall responsibility for all regional product development, application research, and technical service projects, ensuring results are delivered in a timely manner.
Establish strong connections with the global R&D team to ensure alignment on focus areas, timely information exchange, and collaboration.
Collaborate with key stakeholders from regional and global business, R&D, and operations to initiate and drive regional innovation and development projects aimed at fueling long-term business growth.
Identify and engage regional open innovation partners and initiate and progress external collaborative projects.
Sales Support
Support the regional sales and marketing teams for key customer engagement
Represent and promote the business at all the appropriate technical/business meetings
Ensure timely and appropriate technical training of sales and marketing teams and laboratory staff
Laboratory Management
Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to and maintained at all times
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products, formulations, process and other know-how
Prepare expenditure for the departmental annual budget and make recommendations for capital items
REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
Doctorate in chemistry or chemical engineering
15+ years in specialty chemicals, preferably in technical leadership
Experience in Personal/Home care industries
Expertise in polymer, formulation, process, and product development
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for cross-functional results
Experience in multi-cultural, matrix organizations
Commercial insight linking technology with market trends and consumer needs
Excellent verbal and written communication
Willing to travel about 25%
