Key Responsibilities

Lead LV and MV electrical engineering activities for industrial and grid-connected projects. Develop electrical design philosophy, technical specifications, and engineering standards. Act as technical authority for LV/MV systems, power distribution, and grid interconnection. Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, NEC, and utility/grid codes. Review and approve single-line diagrams, load lists, protection philosophies, and layouts. Lead grid engineering studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies. Interface with utilities for grid connectivity, approvals, and compliance requirements. Oversee design of substations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panels, and UPS systems. Define earthing/grounding, lightning protection, and power quality requirements. Review relay protection schemes and settings for LV/MV systems. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and electrical safety reviews. Provide technical support during procurement, FAT, SAT, installation, testing, and commissioning. Resolve technical queries, deviations, and site non-conformances. Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, civil teams, vendors, and clients. Review vendor documents and drawings for electrical equipment and packages.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred). 12-18 years of electrical engineering experience with at least 5-7 years in LV/MV and grid engineering. Experience in industrial plants, utilities, renewable integration, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Work Experience

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of LV/MV distribution systems and grid interconnection requirements. Proficiency in electrical system studies using ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or equivalent tools. Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and power quality. Familiarity with substation design, earthing systems, and electrical safety standards.

Soft Skills:

Strong technical leadership and decision-making ability. Capability to mentor engineers and manage multidisciplinary interfaces. Effective communication with utilities, clients, and project stakeholders.

Work Environment:


EPC engineering offices, substations, industrial plants, and construction sites with periodic travel.
