Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Lead to head our engineering function. You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering team, driving product development, and ensuring the technical excellence of our battery energy storage systems (BESS). This is a leadership role with significant influence on technology strategy, product architecture, and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end engineering development of battery energy storage products and solutions.
Define technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team (electrical, mechanical, software, and systems).
Oversee design, prototyping, testing, and validation of BESS hardware and software.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, BIS, etc.).
Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, budgets, and timelines.
Work closely with the Business team to prepare technical proposals, provide technical support for bids, and participate in customer meetings and presentations.
Collaborate with R&D, product, and business teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies (battery chemistries, power electronics, control systems, IoT, etc.).
Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and external consultants.
Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, budgets, and timelines.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Batteries, or related field.
7+ years of experience in product development, out of which 2+ years in utility-scale battery energy storage, renewable energy preferred.
Strong knowledge of battery technologies (Li-ion, LFP, Na+, flow batteries, etc.), BMS, power conversion, and grid integration.
Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects from concept to commercialization.
Familiarity with relevant standards and certifications (IEC 62619/62133, UL, BIS, etc.).
Hands-on experience with CAD, simulation tools, and embedded systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
