About the Role



We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Full-Stack Developer to spearhead the development of our cutting-edge investment news platform. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on developer who is eager to grow into a Development Manager role.

You will not be doing this alone. You will work under the direct guidance of our CTO, who will provide mentorship on high-level system architecture and engineering leadership. This role is designed to transition you from a code contributor to an engineering leader who owns the department.

The Project



You will lead the build of a proprietary platform that utilizes micro, macro, and pricing data to provide investors with real-time, contextualized news and analysis. You will be building the engine that automatically connects breaking news (from sources like NASDAQ, Federal Reserve, and company filings) with market data to provide instant investment insights.

Key Responsibilities



Core Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the CTO to translate business requirements into technical solutions and define the product roadmap. Technical Blueprinting: Act as the bridge between Business and Engineering. You will take Business Requirements for complex views (like our Company Financial Profiles) and translate them into detailed Technical Specifications. This includes defining the React component hierarchy (e.g., structuring how fundamental data tables and charts interact) and defining the API data shape before the team starts coding. API Architecture: Design and develop robust RESTful APIs to handle real-time data feeds and seamless front-end communication. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small development team. You will conduct code reviews and set the standard for code quality and documentation. System Health: Ensure application performance, security, and scalability. Debug complex issues and maintain system stability.

Requirements



Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on software development experience. Tech Stack: Deep expertise in React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL is mandatory. Database Skills: Strong understanding of schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization in PostgreSQL. Architecture: Experience with state management (Redux/Context API), component-based architecture, and RESTful API design. Leadership Potential: You may not have been a manager yet, but you have taken ownership of projects, mentored juniors, or led technical decisions in the past. Tools: Proficiency with SVN (SubVersion) , and modern CI/CD workflows. Communication: Excellent ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
