Department profile: Wealth Management - Corporate Retirement. Retirement Services maintains relationships with service providers to offer an array of product solutions for retirement plans of all sizes. Team supports Corporate Retirements Directors (CRD), FAs, retirement plans sponsors and retirements plan participants. Platform provides comprehensive view of corporate retirement plans portfolio CRD /FAs manages, and retirement plan details for plan sponsors. Technology platform is used to create scale for retirements sales teams and drive seamless customer experiences across CRDs, FAs & plan sponsors.
Position overview:
This is a Technology Lead - Java Full Stack position for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Corporate Retirement group. The role requires candidate to lead Agile teams, solution architect various products that are planned to be developed. Define development, testing and implementation approach of the products and support various components of Corporate retirements platform.
The candidate will be responsible for working closely with product, architecture & testing teams and understanding the business requirements, translating business requirements into implementable application components. Software developed by agile teams should be certifiable by testing team. The lead should work closely with technology infrastructure team for production deployment and monitoring. The Lead should ensure agile teams are following enterprise software development methodologies.

Has sound understanding of the full software development life cycle
Familiarity with modern software development and design concepts encompassing a range of languages and tools
Has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that are coupled with strong communication, anticipates issues, and deals with them proactively
Is team oriented, highly collaborative, works effectively to build strong long-term partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across a variety of business and IT functions
Demonstrates a passion for technology innovation balanced with a pragmatic approach to developing and deploying solutions that best benefit the business
Nimble, adaptable, able to express ideas in meetings & design discussions, comfortable with ambiguity; course correct when circumstances change

Qualifications

Experience required:
10 years of financial industry experience as a technology lead
10 years of JAVA full stack experience
10 years of rational database experience, SQL server is preferred
5 Years of experience with Agile development process such as Kanban or Scrum
Proven experience designing and implementing solutions for mid to large scale applications
Strong communication skills and ability to demonstrate understanding of business goals
Skilled at service and object orientated development
Skilled at modern web site and web api development
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Cloud technology.
Experience with unit, integration and test automation frameworks and practices
Experience with CI/CD tooling and practices
Qualified candidates will have sound experience and skills with:
Microservice design with sync and async integration patterns
AngularJS (or React)
SQL Server (or other RDBMS)
Hadoop or Snowflake
Microsoft Azure (or AWS)
GitHub (or other git source control)
Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (or other CI/CD toolchains)
Jira
Education: Any Graduate
