• What you will do
• As a member of the Johnson Controls Building Technologies & Solutions Business Unit, Technical Lead I – PCB design will be part of an engineering team that develops electronic systems, Fire Detection Products, and sensors for Buildings. You will help build the platform and the embedded systems for the JCI product line. You will work on designing Embedded Hardware Devices that will be used to integrate with the Building Automation units on the current architecture and understand documentation best practices and possess the capability to manage changes and guide others through documentation completion.
• This position will be based at the Johnson Controls building in Pune and will be part of a Global Platforming team.
• How you will do it
• Communicate within the cross-functional team to understand requirements and initiate proof of concept implementation
• Working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed and low noise analog PCBs by following the global engineering team’s requirements and processes
• Work with Electronics engineers to develop and maintain schematic designs using Mentor Graphics –Expedition and Altium tool
• Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical aspects to create schematic symbols, PCB mechanical restriction guidelines, PCB component footprints and 3D components, models
• Designing of high-speed boards based on JCI guidelines and DFMEA, DFT, DFR & DFM requirements
• Work closely with Manufacturing Team to meet DFX, DFM, DFT & DFA requirements
• Improve technical competencies and skill levels based on project requirements and inputs from Technical Leads
• Should have very strong knowledge in HDI board design
• Information Security Responsibilities:
• Adhere to JCI policies, guidelines and procedures pertaining to the protection of information assets
• Adhere to JCI product security standards and guidelines for secured software product development
• The software, and licenses, shall be deployed and used only in accordance with JCI licensing agreements
• Unless provided in the applicable license, notice, or agreement, copyrighted software shall not be duplicated, except for backup and archival purposes
• Any software that is acquired illegally or does not have a valid license shall not be deployed or used. Copying of third-party materials without an appropriate license is prohibited
• The employees, contractors or third-party personnel shall not copy, extract, or reproduce in any way, copyrighted material from the Internet on information systems provided by the organization, other than permitted by copyright law
• Implement appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
• All employees, contractors and third parties shall be responsible to report all information security incidents, alerts, warnings, and suspected vulnerabilities, in a timely manner, and share such information only with authorized personnel
• What we look for
• BE/BTech/ME/MTech- (ECE/EIE/EEE)- minimum 10 Years of experience in Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium
• Very strong high speed and multilayer layout skills including stack-up design, differential pair, impedance control, matched delay, etc.
• Experience in designing Multi-Layer PCBs for high-volume manufacturing
• Must have experience in designing PCB layout for DDR3/DDR4, USB3.0, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet
• Experience in designing high-density boards that incorporate microcontrollers, mixed-signal circuits and peripherals such as Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, DDRx, etc.
• Experience with board layout incorporating RF circuits and antennas
• Solid knowledge of the board fabrication process
• Should have very good knowledge about IPC standards
• Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, peers and stakeholders in Global Engineering centers
• Able to work efficiently independently as a team member and have the capacity to work on tight deadlines with high efficiency
• Self-learner, able to work with autonomy, readiness for foreign/domestic travel on a short/long-term basis
• Preferred
• Hands-on experience in Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium tool
• Strong communication skills and be able to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds
