Job Description

Seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience specializing in developing ingestion and ETL Frameworks using Python on AWS. This role will play a key role in architecting scalable ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) libraries that standardize data processing across the organization, with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, and implement highly scalable and robust data ingestion and ETL frameworks using Python and leveraging AWS services. Expert-level programming skills in Python and extensive experience with advanced libraries (e.g, Polars, Pandas, Boto3, pyarrow, sqlalchemy, PySpark, Dask) Should possess deep expertise in leveraging key AWS services like Glue, Lambda, S3, IAM, Lake Formation, Cloud Formation and EC2 Drive the optimization of data pipelines on AWS for maximum performance, fault tolerance, and scalability, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards. Establish comprehensive data quality checks, monitoring systems, alerting mechanisms to guarantee the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data assets in the cloud Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in data engineering, AWS, and Python Development. Continue to evaluate and enhance our data infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience. 7-10 years of total experience, with at least 4+ years hands-on with AWS services. Deep experience designing reusable, configurable, and modular software libraries in Python. Solid understanding of ETL design patterns, data structures, and data modeling principles. Solid understanding of Data Governance, Security, and Compliance best practices. Strong testing, logging, and exception-handling skills for production-quality code. Knowledge of data lake best practices (partitioning, compaction, performance tuning). Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on automation and operational excellence. Strong communication and documentation skills.
