About the Role: 09 The Team : Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels. The Impact : S&P Global Commodity Insights Fields and E&P data is reliant on the role of the Research Analyst for the provision of detailed geological information and insight. The researcher will collaborate with wider teams within Upstream Solutions to help provide industry-leading content and upstream intelligence, enabling the client to make critical investment decisions. The role is focused on Indian Sub-continent upstream petroleum fields/assets. What\'s in it for you : As a Graduate Program Participant, you will work closely with our research and economics team for the Indian Sub-continent and contribute to projects related to petroleum fields from a geological and economical technical perspective. This comprehensive program is designed to provide recent graduates with valuable exposure and hands-on experience in the energy research field. Through structured training, mentorship, and project-based assignments, you will develop a solid foundation in energy research, gaininsights into industry best practices, develop regional knowledge, and contribute to solving real-world challenges. Responsibilities : Research Support : Collaborate with senior researchers and industry experts to conduct research on various topics focused on oil and gas fields and reservoirs in India and the rest of the India Sub-continent. policy evaluations, technological advancements, and environmental impact assessments. Initiate and run, or be directed to run, data projects to improve quality and completeness on India fields, reservoirs and assets. Data Analysis : Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to generate insights and develop reports, presentations, and publications. Project Assistance : Provide support in planning, coordinating, and executing research projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, deliverables, and objectives. Literature Review : Conduct thorough literature reviews to identify and assess existing research, industry trends, and best practices relevant to upstream petroleum geology and economics. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish and maintain relationships, ensuring effective communication and coordination for collaborative research projects. Reporting & Documentation : Prepare accurate and comprehensive research reports, project summaries, and documentation to share findings, recommendations, and key insights. Knowledge Sharing : Stay updated with the latest developments in the region for upstream and energy transition perspectives, actively participate in team meetings, share knowledge and insights, and contribute to internal knowledge databases. Requirements : A bachelor\'s or master\'s degree (or equivalent) in a geoscience discipline is essential, completed no later than June 2024. Interest and familiarity with the upstream oil and gas sector, and introductory understanding of Petroleum Economics. Strong industry or academic geoscience background or experience with excellent knowledge of oil and gas fields and reservoir. 0-24 months of relevant work experience. Experience with GIS tools such as ESRI ArcMap and geological interpretation software such as Kingdom and Petrel is preferred. Experience with large datasets, data management systems and data analysis software (Excel, PowerBI, Access, etc.). Excellent communication and time management skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting.
