Technical Expert (Designation will be Technical Lead) Location: Pune, India
Job Summary Pierian, a leader in the clinical genomics space, is currently seeking talented and motivated technical leads to lead the product development teams. As a Technical Lead, your duties will primarily be working with management to turn product strategies into action. You will also be involved in leading team members and identifying/managing risk in collaborations with other teams.
To be successful in this role, you will need to gain extensive knowledge of Pierian products (includes user workflow, user needs, end-to-end workflow, product architecture and design), problem solving skills, knowledge of best practices and the software development life-cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in our product development from ideation to deployment and beyond. Assess what work supports the product strategy and make insightful recommendations regarding priorities.
  • Work with product management and be aware of release scope and timelines; coordinate with project/program managers to plan and deliver releases.
  • Contribute in design activities and documentation; Getting design reviewed by technical leads / architects; provide estimates for stories planned in upcoming sprints
  • Take ownership of delivering large, complex tasks/stories with multiple components. Investigate and resolve areas of significant ambiguity. Identify the work and break down tasks contributing to the team’s objectives over the next 2-3 sprints.
  • Develop good quality code and unit tests
  • Review design approach, estimates and code developed by fellow team members, provide guidance and mentorship
  • Create awareness and improve adherence to engineering best practices and will be responsible for the quality of the software delivered.
  • Participate in daily scrum to provide a plan for upcoming tasks and ask for help for any roadblocks, Keep the JIRA board updated.
  • Manage and mitigate technical risks concerning your project and work required to achieve your team’s objectives. Sequence deliverables to minimize risk.
  • Guide team members to troubleshoot & resolve technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC processes defined at organization level to meet quality goals set at product level
  • Stay up-to-date on product and process trainings required to create quality deliverables at each phase of product life-cycle
  • Participant in conducting training sessions to improve product knowledge and technical skills.
  • Mentor, coach, guide and advise team members on technical knowledge and skills required to accomplish team goals and objectives.
  • Take ownership of providing technical support to the customer success team (for the issues they could not resolve in L1/L2).
  • Provide technical leadership - Lead and prioritize the Application/Technical Support team’s workload. Guide team members to troubleshoot & resolve technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
  • Design, prepare and conduct training relating to Problem & Incident Management.
  • Provide timely and expert advice on emerging trends and issues affecting Service Delivery and Support. Develop strategies to allow Application Support to manage resultant problem

Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 8-11 years of software development experience
  • Should have experience in the customer-facing high-performance application system
  • Broad experience in designing, programming, and implementing large workflow systems.
  • Should have good experience in backend technologies like NodeJS using frameworks like NestJs
  • Should have good experience in JavaScript technologies like ReactJS
  • Should be extremely good in working with databases (MySQL/MongoDB)
  • Experience working on Website Performance Enhancement.
  • Should have knowledge of Unit Test frameworks like Jest
  • Should have experience in Cloud Technology like AWS/Azure/Google
  • Experience using system monitoring tools and infrastructure
  • Should have very good exposure to Agile Methodology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team

Good to have
  • Experience in developing software for medical devices (ISO 13485/IEC 62304)
  • Experience with any Cloud Platform like AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Experience with Docker and anyone Container Orchestration Platforms like EKS, ECS, EKR, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm.
  • Experience using Test Driven Development processes
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Experience with at least one dynamically typed language (Python, Node.js, Groovy).
