Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xe2\x80\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

The role will report to the L3 technical lead and be primarily responsible for the provision, support and stability of the systems. This will include collaboration with a number of teams across Barclays Corportate & International, Infrastructure Services, & external vendors. Identification, validation and implementation of tools to proactively identify and mitigate any risks with potential to impact our clients. The role will work closely with the Project management team to ensure any required changes have structured project plans and appropriate focus alongside other scheduled functional delivery.

What will you be doing?

o Environment Build, Integration and Configuration of environments
o Representing the team at Programme Level SCRUM meetings, ensuring delivery of agreed work items through the environments and into Production
o Test environment support \xe2\x80\x93 defect triage / resolution for issues with the components
o Release & Configuration \xe2\x80\x93 deployments to all Test, Production & DR environments, collating all required evidences from PRE/POST Change deliverables
o Help to deliver, drive and enhance the Resilience capabilities, not just Infrastructure but to guide where application designs can be changed to take advantage of resilient architecture
o DevOps \xe2\x80\x93 scripting/automating the build, release and configuration processes using strategic tools such as GIT/STASH, NOLIO, Jenkins, GROOVY & CHEF
o aPaaS / OpenShift Platform support \xe2\x80\x93 build, deployment and end to end application lifecycle
o Production Support \xe2\x80\x93 L3 incident & problem management and supporting Resilience PCO invocation and testing
o Tech Debt / Strategic initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 Infrastructure & Software upgrades, Patching, Certificate Management, compliance / vulnerability management
o Alerting & Monitoring \xe2\x80\x93 working with the Infrastructure Services and tooling teams on installation and configuration/integration of AppD, Ganglia, Galaxy, Azure, NIMBUS (SSM), Elastisearch (Kibana / MetricBeat)
o Install, configure and maintain the Banks Identity Access Management & authentication services such as IBM ISIM, or the Broadcom/CA SSO SiteMInder and Oracle DSEE (LDAP instances) on Linux servers.
o Install, configure, generate war file, deploy and maintain webagent option pack on Jboss servers in linux environments.
o Install, configure and maintain / upgrade IBM WebSphere
o Create, install, exchange and troubleshoot certificates within estate and with other identity providers.
o Working experience in Vendor (IBM, RedHat, Broadcom/CA, Microsoft, AlachiSoft and Oracle) communities and support sites for troubleshooting issues, proactively monitor security/vulnerability updates and licensing updates.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Sound knowledge in Identity and access management tools
• Sound Knowledge of UNIX / LINUX Adminstration & JBOSS, aPache TomCat, Windows Operating Systems and application integrations (IIS Server, App Server, Pools etc.)
• Oracle experience, SQL script creation / execution for Application DB instances
• OpenShift - Knowledge of Dockers and OpenShift: Should be able to create Docker images as per application requirement Configuration of secrets and configs on Deployment configs Deployment and other tasks automation using Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines
• CHEF - Creating wrapper cookbooks and adding attributes/roles/recipes Create InSpec and Integration tests for Cookbook testing Apply roles to target nodes

Skills that will help you in the role:

• IBM WebSphere - Installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5.x and later Installation of feature packs and applying latest patches on top of WAS JACL and Jython scripting to automate repetitive tasks Shell scripting to automate housekeeping and other tasks
• Infrastructure Patching Management / Evergreen for compliance to supported images / vulnerability management remediation
• SAP Business Objects experience for Crystal Report Servers
• Ab Initio Enterprise services
• AWS Practitioner / Associate qualifications
