Job Description

The Technical Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation and use of all KYNDRYL financial methodologies within the Companys various financial processing and reporting systems for providing detailed analysis around cloud spend as well as using several systems and means to provide the data around costs. This role will work closely with and taking day to day direction from the Lead Cloud Cost Analyst and will report into the Global Head of Engineering Cloud Operations. This role will support the business needs including financial reporting for organizational business units, clients, products and cloud provider accounts. This information is used to drive and inform management accountability, planning, pricing, and cost analysis.
The Technical Cost Analyst responsibilities include, but is not limited to, the following:
Managing AWS Reselling for all customers, sharing the bills along with the consumption report.
Support and manage Day to Day Operations and Administration tasks.
Promote a culture of cost accountability and awareness.
Sharing Cost optimization report with customers where in report contains -Utilization reports of Ec2, RDS ,ElastiCache, details of unused resources, Saving Plan and RI recommendation and historical billing data.
Experience on AWS console, APN and Payee central extracting the billing and financials, providing and applying funding and discounts, analyze the billings using AWS Tools like Athena and Quick Sight.
Create SQL queries on Athena to pull necessary data
Managing cloud provider discounts commitments (like Reserved Instance and Savings Plans) with the vital governance
processes and tooling.
Building budgets and forecast model around public cloud usage and spends.
Developed effective reporting schemes/metrics to maintain strong control on usage and billing of cloud services.
Sharing Tag Based reports and Managing Cost Allocation Tags from Consolidate Account.
Raise awareness and accountability of Cloud spend with detailed allocable cost by reporting to various stake holders.
Track billing information across the organizations in a consolidated view & Cost Control-Establish effective governance mechanisms with the effective reporting and monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors Degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, or related field, or equivalent of minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost tracking, cost estimating, and cost optimization in the financial and/or cloud industry are required.
Excellent financial analytic skills, verbal / written communication skills, and ability to communicate complex financial concepts to key clients in a concise and useful manner.
High proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint or similar spreadsheet and presentation software
Experience of financial, accounting, and procurement processes and coding
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of employees including senior level managers and executives.
Experience in creating SQL queries
Ability to think strategically and tactically to anticipate outcomes and assess risks, with persistent attention to detail
Proficiency in BI tools for reporting, dash-boarding, and conducting detailed analysis and identifying trends in the data
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and KYNDRYL Cloud
Requires an independent thinker and someone willing to drive engagement.

Previous experience in managing complex vendor billing is a plus.
