About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geospatial Technical Business Analyst to join our Geospatial Infrastructure Team. This team plays a critical role in building and maintaining geospatial IT systems that support key functions across Swiss Re. You will work closely with experienced developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure spatial data is optimized, published, and documented efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and optimize geospatial data for efficient storage and fast querying.
  • Publish spatial datasets in our open-source map server and REST APIs.
  • Executing & document data workflows, metadata standards, and publishing processes together with technical teams and business stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve spatial data issues related to projections, accuracy, and performance.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, and SQL (especially for spatial databases).
  • At least 3-years of experience in working in natural catastrophe modeling domain.
  • Solid understanding of geospatial concepts, including coordinate reference systems, reprojection, and spatial data optimization.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Good-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with REST APIs, Git, ML and AI within geospatial domain.
  • Experience with developing data pipelines, automation of GIS processes
  • Familiarity with optimizing spatial data for performance and usability.
  • Exposure to open-source, cloud-based GIS platforms.
