Technical Analyst / Performance Manager – Solar O&m

Job Description

Key Responsibilities



1. Performance Monitoring & Analysis



Continuously monitor solar PV plant KPIs (PR, CUF, availability, specific yield) using SCADA and other analytics platforms. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for underperformance, energy losses, and downtime. Develop and implement performance improvement plans, focusing on minimizing losses and enhancing asset reliability. Benchmark plant performance against industry best practices and peer assets.

2. Operational Excellence & Optimization



Recommend design/operational improvements based on performance insights. Support predictive maintenance initiatives using data analytics, thermography, drone inspections, and AI-based monitoring tools. Drive initiatives to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and lifecycle asset performance.

3. Reporting & Stakeholder Management



Prepare accurate daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports and dashboards for management and investors. Develop advanced data visualization tools for plant performance tracking. Act as the technical interface between O&M teams, management, and equipment OEMs to ensure performance issues are addressed.

4. Maintenance & Reliability Support



Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs through data-driven insights. Work closely with field O&M teams to translate analytical findings into actionable tasks. Oversee warranty claims and performance guarantees with EPCs and OEMs.

5. Safety, Compliance & Standards



Ensure all performance improvement initiatives comply with HSE and regulatory requirements. Drive compliance with ISO, IEC, and grid code requirements. Support audit processes by providing technical and performance documentation.

Qualifications & Skills



Education:



Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy Engineering. Master's degree in Energy Systems, Data Analytics, or MBA (preferred).

Experience:



Minimum 10 years in Solar O&M, with significant experience in performance analytics and optimization of >100 MW utility-scale plants. Strong experience in handling SCADA systems, data analytics platforms, and asset management tools. Proven track record of improving plant PR and CUF through analytics-driven interventions.

Technical Skills:



In-depth knowledge of PV systems, inverters, transformers, and grid interfaces. Proficiency in SCADA, CMMS, and performance monitoring software (e.g., Power BI, PVsyst, Python/SQL for analytics preferred).
Strong knowledge of RCA, predictive maintenance, and reliability engineering.
