Job Title Tech Lead, Systems Engineering
About your Role
Transmission engineer works with business units and their clients to implement file transmission services between clients/third party service providers and Fiserv. This includes establishing network and protocol connectivity, implementing a secure transfer using the encryption and protocol selected by the client, providing for the automatic routing and processing of files and conducting end to end certification testing with the client. They will also implement and support clients who participate in Fiserv Disaster Recovery testing.
What you'll do:
1. Implement file transmissions on various Mainframe platforms and IBM Sterling File Gateway transmission platforms in all the data centres for clients of other business units.
2. Implement file transmissions on the SFG /CD / MOVEit transmission platform. Develop and catalog implementation documentation in the Data Delivery Sharepoint site and eventually the knowledgebase.
3. Provide On-call Tier 2 support for transmission incidents which cannot be resolved by Tier1 Batch Operations. Includes training of Tier 1 Batch Operations.
4. Participate in regular Fiserv Disaster Recovery testing of Transmission services for Signature clients.
5. Provide end to end support on projects build/development starting from requirement gathering to post implementation support.
6. Schedule and coordinate meetings with various project stack holders for file transmissions.
Experience you'll need to have:
Skills and Knowledge Required

• Experience working with transmission security protocols including secure FTP (FTPS and SFTP), PGP/ GnuPG and Connect Direct (NDM) with Secure + encryption over the Internet and over a dedicated circuit

• Understanding of how firewall rules allow or restrict access to an FTP server on the Internet.

• Understanding of network devices such as load balancers which routes FTP sessions to multiple FTP servers. Understanding of how the FTP protocol uses ports in active and passive modes.

• Experience in reading and troubleshooting scripts in languages such as Perl, Shell and PowerShell (in Windows). Experience setting up tasks in IBM Sterling Filegateway is a plus.

• Understanding of FTP commands (gets and put) and transmitting in ASCII versus binary.

• Working knowledge of relational database structures, and SQL tools.

• Experience with LINUX, Windows and Mainframes environments.

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

• Interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of implementation engineers, distributed system engineers, development engineers and third-party software providers.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Knowledge of file transmission products and FTP servers such as MOVEit and IBM Sterling File gateway.

• Knowledge of FTP message codes is a plus.

• Knowledge of SyncSort is a plus.

• Experience working with Unix/Linux OS and Windows OS is required.

• Experience with i-Series (AS400) and z-Series environments is a plus.

• Experience working with Microsoft Operations Manager and CA Network System Management (NSM) monitoring is a plus.

• Experience working with Service Now or Service Point tool.

• Knowledge of ITIL and service management tools such as Remedy for receiving service requests and filling out change control requests is a plus.
