Job Title:

Team Leader - Body Shop Process

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and control body shop operations --

spot/MIG/TIG welding, hemming, sealing, riveting, and robotic welding

. Manage

robot programming and path optimization

(Fanuc / ABB / KUKA). Ensure proper setup and maintenance of

fixtures, jigs, guns, and manipulators

. Monitor and adjust

weld parameters

(current, voltage, squeeze, hold times) to maintain nugget quality. Perform

robot TCP calibration, tip dressing, and gun arm alignment

. Lead

process validation, tool tryouts, and new model introduction (NPI)

. Conduct

root cause analysis (RCA)

for weld failures, dimensional issues, and robot faults. Collaborate with maintenance for

PLC troubleshooting, sensor checks, and pneumatic system maintenance

. Drive

process improvement, line balancing, and takt time optimization

. Ensure adherence to

IATF 16949, ISO 45001, and TPM standards

. Train and guide technicians on equipment handling and technical troubleshooting.

Technical Skills:

Welding Technology:

Spot, MIG, TIG, Projection, Stud, and Laser Welding.

Robotics:

Programming and maintenance (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA).

PLC & Automation:

Basic knowledge of Siemens / Allen-Bradley systems.

Fixtures & Jigs:

Setting, clamping, calibration, and inspection.

Measurement Tools:

CMM, Faro Arm, Vernier, Micrometer, Torque tools.

Software:

AutoCAD, CATIA (for fixture review), MS Excel for process tracking.

Standards:

IATF 16949, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.

Qualifications:

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering. Minimum 8 years of experience in

automotive Body-in-White (BIW)
