Your field of responsibility This is a role with responsibilities for BFO functions performed in Asia. This role will primarily focus on the APAC markets and which includes products such as Loans, Credit Derivatives, IR Derivatives and FX Derivatives. BFO sits within Product Control. The responsibility of BFO is to advise and independently challenge key partners on accounting and valuation matters impacting the financial documents, including daily P&L and balance sheet movements as well as validating the principal risk taking assets and liabilities of the firm and their associated revenues in compliance with Credit Suisse\'s primary GAAP and other specific requirements as cooperated with Financial Control. You will perform analysis of the daily trading profit and loss by understanding trading strategies, risk profile, market conditions and accounting treatments You will provide commentaries on significant individual items (cluster and entity) You will review of booking, valuation and revenue recognition for structured trades Perform testing of new processes and procedures You will maintain the accuracy and integrity of the books and records Bfo avp-vp: Analytical Review of the Trading P&L and Balance Sheet Monthly/Quarterly Processes Member of a team responsible for performing Monthly/Quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, which includes Fair Value and other Disclosures, Multi-GAAP and IFRS journals, Provisions, Trading Book Eligibility Review, FROGS DNA mapping and Controls Database input/reconciliation Responsible for providing & managing Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary and Inventory Aging Reporting and Analysis. Also responsible for ongoing or periodic processes such as Balance Sheet review, dormant book reviews, adhoc and other reporting Prepare and coordinate central reports within wider BC team such as weekly/monthly P&L commentaries, CDB GL reconciliation, FROGS GL reconciliation and other reporting. Works independently on issues with results and schedules set by others Primary Front to Back Relationship Management Respond promptly to clients, raise if issue can\'t be answered within agreed timeframe Supporting Change & Continuous Improvement Identify and increase potential improvements in the processes and procedures in operation within the area. Support testing of new processes and procedures Standards, Issues & Escalation Learn and apply PC standards Analyze simple to moderate issues with escalation to the next level When performing the core responsibilities, ensure controls are viewed from two perspectives: (a) completeness and accuracy of books and records and (b) detection of unauthorized or unusual activities. Raise any issues or unusual activities to supervisors in a timely manner. Risk Management Build awareness of risks associated with the businesses supported. Hence even managerial positions will require candidate to undertake hands - on tasks Proven ability To excel in this role, you should possess the following background / experiences Degree in finance/Business OR financial engineering background OR CA/ MBA with 0 to 5 years of professional experience in financial service industry Strong quantitative analysis skills and knowledge of financial products with a control demeanor Proven ability to quickly understand sophisticated processes and requirements and summarize them to be understood by senior management, including the relevant presentation skills (preparation & communication) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives.
