JOB PURPOSE
This role is responsible for supporting daily sales operations, assisting in order management, ensuring customer engagement, and providing valuable market feedback.
Responsibilities:
Quality Check and Control:

  • Assist in implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for quality checks on incoming consignments.
  • Conduct initial quality inspections, including evaluating starch index patterns and identifying external defects like sunburn.
  • Support random sampling of consignments, flagging lots with defects exceeding 12%, and categorizing accepted lots by color and size.
  • Ensure packaging quality aligns with organizational standards to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the storage of products in designated chambers based on color and size to preserve quality.
Stakeholder Interaction:
  • Support liaison activities with internal stakeholders such as sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including growers, their unions, and auditors, to maintain compliance and procure high-quality produce.
  • Assist in coordinating with sales centers for testing reports and provide relevant insights to improve farming practices.
Data Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control data for internal use and external audits.
  • Assist in updating digital records for procurement data, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for quality assurance purposes.
  • Contribute to analyzing quality control data to identify areas for process improvement.
Comprehensive Quality Management:
  • Follow the established quality assurance strategies, adhering to organizational goals and SOPs for quality checks.
  • Stay informed of updates to quality standards and integrate them into daily tasks to enhance the procurement process.
People Engagement and Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve procurement goals, sharing insights and feedback to improve team performance.
  • Participate in training programs and mentorship opportunities to enhance personal expertise in procurement processes.
  • Foster a sense of ownership and accountability in assigned tasks to align with departmental objectives.

Sales Support and Execution:
  • Support the Sales and Marketing Lead in achieving sales targets for the assigned trade format or region.
  • Assist in processing and managing orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to customers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (packaging, inventory, and production) to verify goods are dispatched as per customer requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate log of stock movement, order fulfillment, and invoicing activities.
  • Participate in promotional sales activities, product launches, and other initiatives to drive demand.
Customer and Market Engagement:
  • Engage with customers (retailers, distributors, and small vendors) to understand their requirements and provide necessary assistance.
  • Collect and document basic market data, including sales trends, demand fluctuations, and customer preferences.
  • Escalate any critical customer concerns or challenges to the Sales Lead for resolution.
  • Develop a rapport with customers through consistent communication and support to improve retention and satisfaction.
Coordination with Packaging and Production Teams:
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing Lead in liaising with the packaging and production teams to communicate daily requirements for goods distribution.
  • Work closely with the inventory/storage team to monitor product availability and minimize stock discrepancies.
  • Support logistics and operations teams by helping verify delivery schedules and ensuring customer satisfaction post-delivery.
Reporting and Feedback:
  • Update and maintain daily sales performance records, including sales volume, stock levels, and customer feedback.
  • Provide inputs on observed market trends, customer demands, and competitor activities.
  • Share accurate, concise reports with the Sales Lead to assist in decision-making.

Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Master's degre in Agri Business/Marketing/Any preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in procurement, preferably in FMCG or food industry.
Industry Preferred:
Experience in the perishable goods industry or related sectors, such as agriculture, food processing, or logistics.Educational Qualification:
Graduate/ Post Graduate in Agri or Masters in Agri Business Management.
Experience:
At least 2+ years of relevant experience in a sales role with a significant portion in B2B sales.
Industry Preferred:
Prior experience in Perishable goods industry or in the FMCG industry.
