Purpose of the Role
1) Implementing quality control activities, as well as overseeing the work of quality control operators and other staff with respect to In process quality part of the value chain to achieve strategic operational goals
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Responsible for day-to-day achievement of quality targets by implementing stringent In process quality control processes and procedures
Monitor critical quality metrics and parameters required to meet profitability and customer satisfaction targets
Execute activities that translate to reduction of COPQ(Cost of Poor Quality) value within in process part of the value chain
Ensure the highest quality output that meets customers' expectation in the most cost effective manner, through incoming quality control activities along with action planning for identified gaps
Ensure identification and addressing any In process quality issues or defects, by working with the operators
Ensure maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of quality control activities and results
Establish the quality system in In process part of the value chain
Conduct PNCAT to resolve customer complaints efficiently
Perform analysis on the day-to-day rejections in PNCAT meeting to arrive root cause, correction and corrective action
Diligently implement, monitor and sustain the corrective actions taken
Support the SIC in resolving the day-to-day process deviations and escalation of the same in times of prolonged non-closure.
Work towards ensuring the adequacy, adherence and updating of SOP thro' process check sheets
Support the SIC in conducting process audit and raise non conformance for corrective action implementation to reduce rejection and complaint
Establish problem solving through QC story for reducing rejections at in-house and customer end.
Carry out Inspection & record through check sheets for implementing corrective actions to stabilize the process
Analyse casting rejected at customer end with CFT for suitable corrective action and ensure sustenance thro check list.
Track suitable targets and KPIs for the team to ensure effective performance and delivery
Oversee the workflow and work assignments of the team to ensure effective collaboration among teams, team members and consistent, quality work
Collect quality data and identify trends and areas for improvement for action planning to fill the gaps
Prepare reports on quality control activities and results to the stakeholders, and advice on appropriate action to solve issues
Suggest and use the latest technologies and tools for incoming quality control measurement
Drive continuous learning and skilling of operators on soft and hard skills essential for the section
Track performance measures of the operators and individuals to consistently provide feedback and improve performance
* Train operator / technician to improve their skill set and ensure defect free products
