The Sales and Use Tax Team Leader ( Team Leader ) manages a team of consultants in the Sales and Use Tax practice The team leader works with clients to identify tax savings opportunities resulting from state and federal fuels tax on transportation and non-transportation equipment The main focus of this position is researching and analyzing state and federal motor fuels tax issues and communicating them internally and to the client, as well as maintaining existing client relationships Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan s Key Results People: Create a positive team experience. Maintain process documentation and ensure the team follows the same. Responsible for people and performance management. Develops client workplans and schedules for associated project deliverables. Assists Senior Manager with developing and implementing strategies to maintain and/or expand client base. Coordinates operations of the practice with the Senior Manager. Client: Proactive work status update to US / India liaison. Serves as principal contact for client activity. Prepares and conducts client presentations. Manages costs associated with various client projects. Values: Researches and analyzes state and federal sales and use tax issues and communicates the results of the searches to management. Participates actively in International Sales and Use Tax Association and other Sales and Use Tax programs. Monitors all aspects of billing process and account maintenance for assigned projects. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience : Bachelor s degree or Master s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance; and five to seven years of sales and use tax related experience. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Internet navigation/research. Certificates and Licenses : Valid driver s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has limited supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Occasional long periods of standing while copying. Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone. Independent travel to conduct field inspections required: 30 to 50%.
