Purpose:

The purpose of the Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader - LCCI VEO role is to support the LCCI - VEO therapeutic area teams to be responsible for daily operations within their assigned team through capacity/personnel management, staff development, project and business planning/management, and cross-functional communication. The Team Leader works closely with the Director/s supporting LCCI VEO team to provide strategic input and ensure alignment with Lilly objectives. Building relationships with key business components (e.g., Global Therapeutic Area Platform Teams and International HTA team) will also be an important responsibility of the Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader. The Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader will be responsible for all aspects of the VEO project execution to enable global customers to get quality, customized, and timely completion of VEO projects. Driving strong partnerships and alignment across VEO functional groups is foundational. The Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader should lead the application and integration of key VEO processes and tools.

The Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader - LCCI VEO will also be responsible for recruiting the talent needed by the individual teams, job performance oversight for direct reports, ensuring relevant and high quality training is available, ensuring effective and efficient processes are in place, developing team-specific resources, managing career paths, building and maintaining long-term relationships with key internal and external business partners, supporting and driving organizational change and learning, establishing metrics, anticipating future trends/needs, strengthening current and future capabilities/tools/technologies, developing synergies with global partners, as well as other related activities. This leader will be a key interface for other functional areas engaging in GPORWE project activities. The Team Leader/Snr. Team Leader in this role is the business owner for the assigned area.

Primary Responsibilities:

Personnel Management

Recruit for and staff positions to meet business needs while leveraging diverse global talent, with full responsibility for personnel decisions.

Supervise direct reports and facilitate performance management, personnel development, and career development through coaching, and transparent feedback; escalate issues to upper management as appropriate.

Create a culture of accountability, excellence, and integrity.

Appropriately identify and resolve personnel issues in collaboration with human resources and functional management.

Participate and represent staff in succession planning activities, talent assessment, merit pay, promotion processes, and reward and recognition activities to retain and motivate staff.

Ensure development, implementation, and compliance of training initiatives for team personnel.

Develop staff competencies, including knowledge, skills, and behaviors focused on health economics/ health outcomes, medical communications, and therapeutic area expertise.

Ensure staff compliance with Lilly Corporate, Medical, and other standards, procedures, and other internal and external business requirements, including training requirements.

Manage and optimize a successful sourcing strategy across area of responsibility to meet business needs and to deliver business plan on time and within budget, ensuring capability and capacity is available to meet business deliverables.

Ensure a flexible resource pool of experienced staff to implement deliverables of all product groupings via sharing of resources across teams.

Prioritize work, assign resources (internal/external), track progress of workflow, manage timelines, shift resources as necessary.

Business Planning and Operations

Participate in annual business planning and budget development, with ongoing oversight of implementation.

Collaborate with other functional management to ensure alignment of business planning and operations, coordinating across and developing synergies with therapeutic areas, phases of development, and geographies.

Ensure appropriate, necessary, and effective metrics development, review/analysis, reporting, and issue resolution to drive business and operational changes.

Communicate with business partners on progress of deliverables and risk mitigation strategies developed and implemented.

Strategy and Study Development

Develop and Oversee regional health outcomes research strategy for compounds in the relevant therapeutic area.

Influences and supports health outcomes research strategy in order to achieve appropriate access for Lilly products.

Develops appropriate regional health outcomes research programs for products across the commercialization life cycle, as appropriate for role to influence and support appropriate access to Lilly products.

Applies and seeks technical expertise to conduct scientific research in the health outcomes field.

Ensure research is designed within the scope of the defined product plan and is developed to identify and optimize appropriate reimbursement and access.

Defines and shapes research with key partners and vendors to efficiently produce high quality research results.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree with at least 9-10 years experience in drug development and/or knowledge in health outcomes research.

Cognitive abilities including; verbal reasoning, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical ability.

Demonstrated mastery of written English with experience in medical, scientific or technical fields; professional verbal skills in English.

Demonstrated project management and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be flexible in varying environments and with multiple customer groups.

Highly self-motivated and capable of working in a fully diverse (virtual) team.

Therapeutic area or other medical and scientific-specific knowledge and experience

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

Previous expertise in VEO or similar function

Ability to work well across cultures and time zones.

Demonstrated people management skills
