Key Responsibilities

Automation-First QA Strategy

Architect, implement, and scale

end-to-end automation suites

for UI, API, backend, and integration testing. Own the

test automation roadmap

and ensure that 100% of critical functional paths are automated. Establish and enforce

automation-first standards

across QA pipelines--

no manual testing unless justified

.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

Lead a team of QA engineers focused on

automated testing

across multiple projects and platforms. Conduct

code reviews for test automation

, help troubleshoot flaky tests, and mentor team members on writing maintainable test code. Foster a culture of

test ownership, shift-left thinking

, and

engineering accountability for quality

.

Stakeholder & Release Management

Act as the

single point of QA contact

for product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders. Plan, align, and prioritize test efforts based on release goals and product risks. Drive

release sign-off via automation dashboards, metrics

, and health checks--

not manual validation

.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

Integrate test suites into

CI/CD pipelines

(e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab). Ensure

fast feedback loops

and minimal regression windows via parallel testing, mock services, and test data automation. Implement and maintain

automated smoke/regression pipelines

triggered on every commit or build.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

6+ years of QA experience, 2+ years in a QA lead or managerial role. Proven experience in building frameworks using

Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar

tools. Strong experience with

JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java

for writing automated test cases. Hands-on with

API automation

using Postman, REST-assured, Karate, or equivalent. Familiarity with

CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows

. Solid understanding of

test pyramid, mocking/stubbing

, and test environment management. Excellent communication skills and ability to align QA efforts with product strategy.

Bonus/Nice-to-Have

Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6). Experience with

containerized test environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

. Exposure to

contract testing

(e.g., Pact). Experience working in

fintech or highly regulated domains

.
