Job Description

MRI Software is looking for a highly skilled and experienced QA Team Lead to lead our quality assurance efforts across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA strategy, planning, automation, and team leadership within an Agile development environment. This role will be key in ensuring high-quality releases, improving testing processes, and fostering collaboration across global QA teams.
Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Strategy: Define and drive test plans and QA strategies for product releases to ensure comprehensive coverage and timely delivery.
  • Agile Environment: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, DevOps) in an Agile/Scrum setup to align QA efforts with sprint goals and deliverables.
  • QA Metrics & Reporting: Establish, track, and analyze QA metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, test execution rates) to measure quality and drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide QA team members on best practices, testing methodologies, and professional development.
  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Leads and Managers in other regions to ensure consistency in processes, tools, and quality standards across the organization.
  • Release Quality Ownership: Own the quality of product releases and ensure delivery with minimal defects and high user satisfaction.
  • Defect Prevention & Management: Promote early detection of defects, implement root cause analysis, and lead initiatives focused on defect prevention and efficient defect management.
  • Test Automation Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks and ensure automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines to enhance testing efficiency.
Primary:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in testing software in a structured QA environment, 2-3+ years of experience in Team handling/management.
  • Solid understanding of Agile practices.
  • Test Planning & Strategy Development
  • Mandatory Test Automation tools experience (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
  • QA Metrics & Reporting (e.g., defect density, test coverage)
  • Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis
  • Mentoring & Team Leadership
  • Collaboration across geographically distributed teams
  • CI/CD integration and DevOps collaboration
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborates with Product teams to design performance tests by finding features, functions, and services that need to be performance tested and the appropriate user/transaction/data load.
Education:
  • BE/BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area
