Job Summary

Auriga is seeking an experienced Team Lead - Backend Engineering with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, system design, and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will not only drive the architecture and development of complex backend platforms but also lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensure engineering excellence, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Work with business users to gather functional and non-functional requirements Combine your technical expertise and problem-solving passion to turn complex problems into end-to-end solutions Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Lead end-to-end architecture and implementation for complex modules and distributed systems. Oversee architecture decisions for distributed systems, microservices, and integrations. Drive best engineering practices (code reviews, design reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, observability). Optimize application performance, reliability, and security. Unit Testing/Integration Testing Code Configuration and Release Management. Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Break down complex business requirements into technical designs and actionable tasks. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide them through technical challenges. Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term fixes. Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the existing tech stack
Document technical design as well as other technical documents based on the project's compliance requirements.

Qualifications

6+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or mentorship role. Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17), Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and backend API development. Ability to independently architect and deliver large-scale distributed systems used by high-traffic enterprise or consumer platforms. Deep expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven designs. Experience with Multi-threading, Collections, and concurrent API Working experience with web-services and APIs (REST, SOAP) Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, and Event-driven systems.. Experience writing high-quality code with fully automated unit test coverage (Junit, Mockito, etc.) Experience defining and applying design/coding standards, patterns, and quality metrics depending on the solution Working experience with data platforms (relational and/or NoSQL) and messaging technologies(Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.) Excellent OOPs, data structure, and algorithm knowledge Understanding & experience in API management, Swagger Familiarity with

logging, monitoring, observability tools

(ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk). Working experience with LINUX/UNIX environment and shell scripts Proficiency in English Strong collaborator and comfortable to work in an agile, remote and distributed team environment Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
