Role Overview:
The Team Lead General accounting role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of Embark, including managing and maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and budgeting. The role involves supervising accounting staff, reconciling accounts and providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
Manage the team who reconcile the bank accounts, AP and O2C.
Prepare Ind AS compliant standalone and consolidated financial statements
Taxation & Compliance Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other statutory returns
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies
Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
Budgeting & Analysis
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models
Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
Provide insights to improve financial efficiency and decision-making
Process Optimization
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
Support automation initiatives and system upgrades
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams to manage financial aspects of projects
Provide timely financial insights to support business decisions
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Up to 3 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or audit
Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance
Proficiency in financial tools and software
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of financial modelling
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment
Ability to lead team
